Dr. Miljanich has over 20 years experience in pharmaceutical research, development, and commercialization and was previously Senior Director at Elan Pharmaceuticals. He played key roles - from invention to launch - in every facet of the development and marketing of the analgesic PRIALT (ziconotide). Dr. Miljanich is a co-founder and Director of SiteOne Therapeutics, a biotech developing sodium channel-blocking saxitoxin derivatives to treat pain and is on the advisory board for two other biotechs, Naurex and Adynxx. He is co-inventor on 17 US patents and co-author on over 50 scientific publications. He was Professor of Neurobiology at the University of Southern California, a post-doctoral fellow in Biochemistry & Biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco, and received a PhD in Chemistry from UC Santa Cruz and a BS in Chemistry from UC Berkeley.
