Michael Pennington, PhD

Dr. Pennington is Chief Technology Officer at Peptides International. He began his pharmaceutical industry career at Schering-Plough, then joined Bachem Bioscience as Principle Scientist in Peptide Chemistry. He served as Group Director, then President and COO from 2000 to 2010. At Bachem, he built and directed an internationally recognized team producing complex peptides and toxins. He has extensive collaborations with industrial and academic scientists and maintains an extramurally funded research program on several peptide toxins. Dr. Pennington has been awarded four patents, authored over 85 peer reviewed scientific articles, and is an editor of International Journal of Peptide Research & Therapeutics and Current Peptide & Protein Letters. He holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina and a PhD from the University of Florida.
