Professor Chandy is an internationally recognized authority on mechanisms of autoimmunity and the roles of ion channels in cellular immunity. He is a co-discoverer of Airmid’s key technological assets, Kv1.3, PAP-1, and ShK-186, and is an Airmid co-founder. Dr. Chandy received his medical degree from the University of Madras, India, and his PhD in Immunology from the University of Birmingham, England. He has received the Athalie Clark Research Achievement Award for excellence in research from the University of California Irvine.
